ABOUT

Maia Fée explores how movement in dance shapes our understanding of the world and deepens the connection between body and mind. She is fascinated by the physical sensation of movement and by how choreography reveals and reflects the greater whole.

Maia Fée discovered her love of dance at age two in Colorado, when she joined a toddler class to channel her boundless energy. At eight, she began formal ballet training at Denver Ballet Theatre under David Taylor, focusing on classical Vaganova technique and tap with Pam Gleave. After moving to Boulder, she trained with Ana Claire and Amy Ernest at Boulder Ballet School, performing leading and corps roles in Josefina’s Story, Waltz of the Flowers, and Snow Corps. Maia placed in the Top 24 for classical solo and Top 12 for ensemble at the Youth America Grand Prix, advancing to the finals. In 2022, she joined Sumi Komo Dance in Boulder, where she continues to collaborate and perform original repertoire. Maia earned her BFA in Dance and a double major in Journalism from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she performed works by Sasha Waltz, Kyle Marshall, and Sean Curran, and premiered two original choreographic pieces.
